Who we are 

Les Ateliers de la Peninsule Architect & Engineering Firm was founded in Vientiane in 1993 by French architect Francois Greck to become Lao PDR's leading international practice.
It provides the full range of services in architecture, concrete engineering, mechanical & electrical engineering, interior design, and landscaping to create and implement projects in Lao PDR.
Ateliers de la Peninsule is an international team of 20 French, American, German and Lao architects and engineers who are giving their best to serve clients willing to develop quality architecture in Lao PDR. Our projects records do have several international architecture awards in hotels projects showing that in Laos international standards can be matched.
Ateliers de la Peninsule designs are tailored to match their environment and built to comply with Europe or USA quality standards.

For the past four years Francois Greck Architect DPLG shares his 20 years Lao PDR professional experience, to promote foreign investment in property development and real estate projects in Laos PDR. Ateliers de la Peninsule provides company registration advising expertises and a full range of assistance services to foreign property development investments. Ateliers de la Peninsule developed several partnerships in property development which are the result of a 20 years professional investment in Lao PDR.

After French High School of Architecture, Francois Greck implemented 3 years (1991-1993) research on Indochinese Civilizations History under the French National Center of Scientific Research CNRS 1075 Paris and the Social Science Department of the Ministry of Information & Culture of Lao PDR. (Conferences and exhibitions for Asia Society Foundation "Future of Asia's Past" New York 1993, Luang Prabang Royal Palace UN habitat day 1994, Department of Art & Literature Chulalongkorn University Thailand 1994).

For three year Francois Greck did implement a research on hill tribe's vernacular architecture witnessing the remains of an authentic living Feng Shui architecture. In the same time Francois Greck survey's a lot of threatened colonial building in Vientiane which disappear in the 90's because of lack of heritage preservation regulation. Deeply involve in Lao heritage preservation Francois Greck was one of the very first promoting Lao culture internationally presenting conferences and exhibitions to raise attention on this fragile heritage untouched for 30 years.

In 1994 Francois Greck was in charge of the Luang Prabang city urban and architectural history study to implement the UNESCO World Heritage nomination file, nominated as World Heritage in 1995 in Berlin. (Conferences and exhibitions, Asia Society Foundation & Getty Institute of Conservation "Future of Asia's Past" Chiang Mai February 1995, Hong Kong April 1995).

For the past 15 years Francois Greck combines his Asian heritage conservation experience with his European contemporary architect know-how to create an appropriate architecture linking both technological contemporary building solutions and Asian culture identity preservation requirements.
