Brunei Darussalam Embassy

Brunei Darussalam Embassy

The concept proposed for this architecture contest was not selected. The project is located in the Vientiane Capital historical urban heritage protected zone. The property organizes two 1920 French colonial buildings of 500 Sqm each which have to be preserved. The available building surface was not allowing fitting the Brunei Chancery Building and the Brunei Ambassador’s Residence. The concept proposed to extend both buildings by creating a twin wing on each of them similar to the existing original colonial style building linked by a large multipurpose space for the Chancery and a large guest reception area for the Residence.
To design challenge was to create a Brunei design ambiance indoor in a French colonial building outdoor style. The concept proposed to create an external colonial style skin to fit with the preserved urban regulations behind which the project organized a contemporary Brunei style second facade with oriental doors and openings.
