World Monuments Fund's "Hundred Most Endangered Monuments" Vat Sisaket Temple Nomination

The World Monument Fund commissioned a survey of Vientiane capitale's architectural heritage and estimate the budget requirement for conservation of the city's heritage. This mission involved the direction of trainee architects from EALR (Languedoc-Rousillon Architecture School in France) and ESBA (Building and Architecture High School RIP Lao). Vat Sisaket, a pagoda constructed between 1819 and 1825, was identified as the capital's single remnant of authentic Lao Buddhist architecture of highest historical value.
